Now that Arkane Studios has treated gamers to a behind-the-scenes look at the development of their newest game, Dishonored, through a collection of four developer documentaries, they have started a new series that gives gamers a closer look at their game’s world. However, unlike the developer docs, this new series hopes to clue gamers into the history of Dunwall, the whale oil-based town in which the story of Dishonored is set.
In this first episode, titled ‘The Awakening,’ gamers are introduced to the character of Esmond Roseburrow, who sparked Dunwall’s industrial revolution and ushered the town into a new age of prosperity. His discovery of the energy source known as “trans,” or whale oil, helped Dunwall climb out from the ashes.
